RiffSync - Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the RiffSync Library to organize my RiffTrax shorts?
No, the RiffSync Library currently can only contain RiffTrax audio commentary files that are meant to be played back along with a separate movie. The RiffTrax "shorts" and other Video on Demand (VOD) downloads are self-contained movie files that do not need to be synchronized, so RiffSync is not needed. We understand it may still be nice to keep these movies in your RiffSync Library for the sake of organization, and we will look into this as a future enhancement.
I submitted changes to a Riff's info, but the server didn't seem to accept it. Why?
The server currently only allows the original submitter of information for a RiffTrax file to update that info. We plan to improve this in the future, but for now, if you feel the info we have for a RiffTrax on our server is flawed, please contact us by email and let us know. You can always change the info on your library to anything you want, despite what is stored on the server.

RiffSync - Known Issues and Limitations

iTunes and the Floating Riffer Window
iTunes does not allow the Riffer Window to float above the playing movie when in full-screen mode. The floating feature does work in DVD Player, and in iTunes when not in full-screen mode.
Stop Riffing before Quitting the Movie Player
If you quit the target movie player (iTunes or DVD Player) while the Riffer Window is open, RiffSync will open the player again. To avoid this, press the "Stop Riffing" button in the Riffer Window before quitting iTunes or DVD Player.
